Review: Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet in Cardiff

October 11, 2014
From Wales Online:
It could be seen as a rather brave move by Sherman Cymru’s new artistic director, Rachel O’Riordan , to choose Romeo & Juliet as her opening production – after all, this is something most of us have seen countless times.

And to work with a mainly young, emerging cast is another bold step from the Irish-born director.

But, overall, her decisions have paid off as she delivers a fresh, energetic and gritty portrayal of Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers while remaining true to his language.

Romeo & Juliet is at Sherman Cymru, Cardiff until October 18. For tickets, call 029 2064 6900 or visit
